Review first.
Choose what is analyzed.

Recon deals with diagnostic information. Clear collection boundaries and explicit consent are part of the workflow.

Local collection and source review

In the current development pilot, collection remains on the Mac until analysis is authorized. The scan may include system and device information, app versions and activity, accessible diagnostic reports, supported application logs, network settings, Wi-Fi names and console/collector usernames.

Collection is bounded and uses ordinary access. It does not repair the Mac or provide remote control. Permission restrictions, missing files, unknown formats and partial captures are reported.

Selected diagnostic text is unredacted and can contain paths, endpoints, identifiers and confidential or credential-like information. Preview sources and exclude information you do not want to include. Changes to the selected evidence or displayed processing policy clear consent.

What live analysis sends

With consent, the selected package is stored by the current local case service. Bounded relevant evidence, the incident description and follow-up questions are sent to OpenAI for analysis. This is not a fully offline product.

The request uses the provider's no-store setting, but that is not a promise of zero provider retention. OpenAI's processing and retention policies remain separate. The app displays the applicable processing policy before authorization.

New follow-up and explicitly requested recovery reports can use the approved evidence. No automatic repair or paid retry is run. Findings remain advisory, and a citation does not establish that a proposed cause is correct.

Retention and deletion in the current pilot

The local pilot stores case evidence and conversation encrypted, with a one-day case lifetime. You can delete a local case. Minimal budget reservation records remain separate from the evidence and persist after case deletion or expiry.

Local deletion does not alter separate provider retention. Public release data handling and access details will be finalized before a public analysis service is enabled.

This website

This site does not collect Mac diagnostics, run a scan or provide a diagnostic upload form. It contains no Recon analytics, advertising scripts, sign-up form or payment form. Fonts and product images are served with the site.

The hosting service may process standard connection data needed to deliver pages. Product images use clearly labeled artificial data. No real user investigation is shown.

This page describes the current pilot and this website. The public app's final processing policy and verified release requirements will be published with its release.
